5 TIPS FOR STAYING ON TRACK DURING THE HOLIDAYS

1.Plan Ahead
Let's be real, this is the festive season and it's highly likely we're going to be eating big.
If dinner is going to be a big feast, opt for a small breakfast and lunch option or you could skip a meal all together. Enjoy your dinner and go right back to your regular eating the next day. Prepare some meals and keep them in the fridge or freezer. You can even eat left overs, as long as you prepare the right portion sizes for you to eat ahead of time.
2.Stay Active
Go for a walk in the morning or afternoon and get your body moving. This will not only help increase your energy expenditure but it will also help you metabolise all that great food you'll be eating.

3.Drink Water
Stay hydrated throughout the day. It is inevitable that during the Christmas period we are going to be eating calorie dense meals and alcoholic drinks. This means it is even more important to stay hydrated. Drinking water during your big meals will also help reduce your overall intake.

4.Find a balance
It is all about finding a balance and not having the mentality of “stuff it, it’s holidays I’ll go all out". Yes, you want to enjoy all the food and drinks, but try to avoid breaking your daily routine. Try to keep your normal routine by sticking to your usual eating and training times during the holidays.

5. Enjoy yourself!
This time of year isn’t an ideal time to be focusing on weight-loss. This is a good time to press ‘pause’ and maintain all of your hard work. You can enjoy your time with family and friends with out remorse. You don’t need to strive for perfection, you just need to plan ahead and remain consistent.

If you would like some help with your training during or after the holidays.
